Gabrielle
Beauchataud's "Apprenez la Graphologie" is
the first graphological system which combines the methods
of the French, German and Swiss schools. It made a significant
step forward in graphology. It was published in 1956
and was translated into English in 1988 for Scriptor
Books by Alex Tulloch.
The author describes it as "A Practical Course
in Fifteen Lessons". It covers the basics in a
style which is clarity itself, but never simplistic.
In the first three chapters Gabrielle Beauchataud introduces
the reader to the Hippocratic Temperaments, Le Senne's
Characterology and Jung's Typology. In later chapters
she explains how to apply this knowledge to analysing
handwriting. The main body of the book deals with the
evaluation of Klages' Form Level, Pulver's Symbolism
of Space and with the interpretation of basic signs.
"Learn Graphology" is easily readable
for the beginner and a valuable addition to any graphologist's
library.
