THE
SYMBOLISM OF HANDWRITING by Dr Max Pulver, the Swiss
graphologist, has, since its first publication in 1931,
passed into the graphological canon as one of the pioneering
works of graphology.
Perennially in print, it has been translated from the
original German into French, Spanish and Italian and
now at last into English. It fulfils a long-felt want
for English-speaking graphologists. Although there have
been summaries of this work, its true richness and poetic
quality can only be appreciated by reading it in the
author's own words.
The Symbolism of Handwriting, according to Dr. J.C.
Gille-Maisani of the Université Laval, Quebec,
is "essentially the systematic application to handwriting
of the symbolism of space".
Like
all truly original concepts, it seemed so obvious once
it had been stated that it is hard to imagine graphology
without it. This work gave to graphologists the key
to unlock the secret door to the subconscious, from
whose depths spring the motivating impulses of a writing.
Consequently, it is immensely helpful with the in-depth
analysis of handwriting.
